About
My full name is Anissa "Sukala" Paradis, also known as Sukala A.P.I was born in Montreal on October 12, 2001.
I'm autistic and have been drawing ever since I was pushed into holding a crayon at the age of four.My art solely centers on cartoon character design, sometimes with a proper landscape to somewhat complete it.Said creations are more often than not based on existing intellectual propreties (which is what we call "fan art"), but they also tend to lean towards more original content.I draw everything from scratch, weither the sketch was scribbled on a digital canvas or a lined sheet of paper to begin with.
Although most of those digital illustrations of mine mainly depict animalistic characters, I most definitely can take a more humanoid approach.
I started drawing digitally over a decade ago, with my first software being Microsoft Paint.In 2014, I got my first graphic Wacom tablet around the time I started to get the hang of Photoshop, before eventually moving on to Clip Studio Paint in 2017, which I use to this day.

As you can see, I went from a “Young Picasso” art style to something on parr with what you would see in an animation studio.
Main Project
I intend to get recognition through something more than just “fan art” & parodies. That would be specifically through an ambitious project of mine, which I’ve been struggling to develop properly over the years, due to an artistic identity crisis linked to a lack of self-esteem.
A decent handful of completely original characters have since been created and experimented on, although I don’t draw them as often as I should. Note that I have not picked a single character to be the primary protagonist, as I cannot focus on only one for the time being.Which is why I consider taking a more reminiscent approach by taking inspiration from old comic books. Kind of like the Archie comics, it precisely consists of a story named after a specific character, which is picked as the protagonist of a specific scenario. The working title will be “Fooga & The Flock”.
